Schuine Streep
Two different types of wood, Red Oak and Mahogany, dark brown grout, recycled stone, and glass tiles, are the mediums chosen to make this credenza. The given name, Schuine Streep, the Dutch translation for slanted stripe, was used to title this piece based on the repetition of lines within the different components of the table. Organic and geometric elements were purposefully applied within the table to add to the stripes' uniqueness. The tiles were added to correlate with the geometric vibe of the table top, as well as to establish a color contrast with the frame. To juxtapose the geometric vibe, organic free-flowing legs and the curvy support of the table were attached.
